The Bridge Betrayed book. Read 13 reviews from the world's largest community for readers. The recent atrocities in Bosnia-Herzegovina have stunned people /5.
My relatively high rating for "The Bridge Betrayed" is more a reflection of my agreement with the author's stance than praise for the strength of his arguments. The strongest aspect of this book is the keen analysis and refutation of the key arguments used by both Serb and Croat nationalists to justify their actions in Bosnia-Herzegovina (aimed primarily against the Bosnian Muslims)/5(14).

Sells and a great selection of related books, art. This reviewer has not found in The Bridge betrayed a single reference on Croat martyrdom in Bosnia and Herzegovina, both at the hands of Serbs and Bosnian Muslims.
An uninformed reader may get the impression that Croats tried to cleanse Muslims from Central Bosnia and Herzegovina. This book picks up right where book one left off and we get to see the ramifications of everything that unfolded at the end of the bridge kingdom. We travel multiple lands here and deal with a great many traumas but all while fighting an impossible enemy with nothing but hope and a prayer/5.

The last book read in my class was called A Bridge Betrayed by Micheal Sells. This was an entertaining and well flowing read to end our classes curriculum. This book focuses on the genocide that occurs in Bosnia and was easy to read. Although, It feels weird to begin to start my final paper now and move along from these blogs.
The Bridge Betrayed also demonstrates the activities of Croat religious nationalists in destroying non-Catholic culture and communities throughout Herzegovina and especially in the Mostar Region, culminating in the deliberate destruction of the ancient bridge that symbolized the bridge of cultures, religions, and peoples in Bosnia throughout the centuries. The Bridge Betrayed: Religion and Genocide in Bosnia.
by Michael A. Sells This passionate yet reasoned book examines how religious stereotyping—in popular and official discourse—has fueled Serbian and Croatian ethnic hatreds.
Sells, who is himself Serbian American, traces the cultural logic of genocide to the manipulation by Serb /5(2). Licensed to YouTube by. AdRev for a 3rd Party (on behalf of Score Keepers Music, BMI (Scorekeepers)), and 2 Music Rights Societies.
